This hotel is expensive so I wanted to give a comprehensive review. I travel a lot for work so I’m quite aware of things, and when things are missing. If they make a few small tweaks, this could be an excellent hotel. I would stay here again, but it’s missing a few easily solvable things - like proper mugs in the rooms and spoons for coffee. We paid a lot and breakfast wasn’t included - so we went to bakeries nearby. I didn’t eat any of the food so can’t comment on that. Staff were nice and friendly, but these are the things I felt were disappointing: - Nowhere to put bathroom toiletries - no shelf space at all. There was a sink and that was it. - hard to do your make up with nowhere to put it whilst you’re doing it - sofa in the room was really hard - not comfortable at all - there was Iron an ironing board - but there was nowhere to plug the iron in, to use it..? Very odd - No spoon for coffee, to put coffee in the French press - No actual coffee cups - only takeaway cups - the lids didn’t fit the cups - Tiny towels in the bathroom - no Bath sheet size which was disappointing - Make up mirror / zoom mirror at such a low level - I’m 5 foot and it was too low for even me, very odd - Handheld hose in the shower didn’t stay in its holder - you had to physically hold it. I think it was also broken. If you didnt want to get your hair wet, make sure you use a shower cap. - the Full length Mirror was right next to the wall on the bed - so you couldn’t see your full outfit. Not sure why it isnt on any of the other walls… - i don’t appreciate being called by housekeeping in the morning to see if we want our room cleaned, and if so, what time the room would be empty / we were leaving the room - we’re on vacation, I dont want to be rushed. - Doors slamming is super loud and feels like people are coming into your room, as a previous review has said - Could hear music from room around us The positives were comfy bed, good location with streetcar right outside and friendly staff.

SLEEPLESS in Toronto

IMPOSSIBLE TO SLEEP. BEWARE NOISE. We were adjacent to the Lincoln Hall on the second floor, where a DJ'd wedding reception was going on until 1:06 am on a Saturday . We could recognize the songs through the wall. The earplugs we brought did not help. When we mentioned the noise problem we were shrugged off by the staff. I can only recommend this hotel to the deaf. We will not be staying here again. While it was nice to watch the street activity from the window and the location was great, it was not worth losing a day of our trip due to sleeplessness.

Would not recommend this hotel if you’re coming for work. It is incredibly noisy. The first night they put my in a room directly below the rooftop patio and I was kept up till 1am by the footsteps and toilets flushing. I asked to be moved and then second night I was woken up at 2am to a fire alarm. Everyone went outside and waited for 20 minutes while no staff told us what was going on or even when we could go back in. Luckily a firefighter told me it was just a false alarm so I went back in but the staff was not helpful at all. I also arrived at 5:30 pm and had to wait for 15 minutes as they said my room wasn’t ready, even though check in is much earlier. Our room was out of shampoo and body wash and there was no spoon to stir my coffee. All around not a good experience for the premium price paid to stay here. Won’t stay again.

Not recommended; a room so small that the only place to put a carry-on suitcase was on the desk, there was no floor area to put it down. Parking?$20 a night for alley parking that I wouldn’t set foot in at night. Staff members were friendly but you could see they were embarrassed to tell us all the rooms were this small. For $425 a night with no parking and no breakfast in a shady part of town I expected more. On the other hand, the hotel has a beautiful facade, cool rooftop bar and it’s decor is fun, cool and well thought out. If the size of the room doesn’t bother you, money is no object and you need to be in this area of Toronto then maybe… for me, I won’t be going back.

We enjoyed our stay, and the turn-table and record collections was an interesting touch. We didn’t care for the scent of the products in the bathroom. Everyone was very friendly..we went to the bistro & the rooftop patio. The history of the building is particularly interesting.
